Secrets Revealed - 7 !

HINDUISM

In Hindu rituals, importance is also given to the meals as given to others. I have got with a new topic today of which you all may have come across with it while having meals in a feast. While you are having feast in a ceremony, after finishing meal you are not supposed to get up from your place before the eldest one gets up. Yes, according to our ancestor’s ritual, “One must not get up from his place after having food while others are still having & he has to wait for the eldest one to get up”. Will you agree with this? Yes, you have to, because there is an actual reason behind it. Let’s look at it.

Nowadays each one will have food at their own time. Serving them will become a huge work for women who have to leave her other work paused. It’s not that easy to serve everyone at their own time. Regardless of having meal in a systematic manner creates indigestion in stomach which may ruin your stomach. But if we reckon today’s life it is bit difficult to have meals from time to time.

Ok, now let’s go back to older days. In older days everyone used to have food in a group. Having food from time to time in a group creates unity in a family & systematic digestion in our stomach. It is said that one should not get up from his place leaving food while others are having food before the eldest one has got up. If he does, then the food in all the leaves get tainted (taint of spit). If there is urgent need to get up, we have to draw a line with water on both sides and then get up. In this case we are separating ourselves from the group. But why is this done?
There are some reasons here which we can agree. Let’s assume that we are having a feast in a ceremony. There are some servers who are serving food at all ends. In case someone gets up from his place leaving food, he has to walk along in a line where servers are not serving food in that line. This does not seem to a big problem. But as he gets up leaving the food, other people also start getting up looking at him. This seems to a big problem to the servers while serving the food to others. And the other reason may be, when he is walking away to wash his hands, there are some chances of the left-overs in his hand may ooze (leak) into others leaf while they are having food. This happens often in case of a huge crowd. Then it is also a matter of respect given to the eldest ones. Hence people are advised not to get up from their place of having food until the eldest one gets up. But the eldest one decides to get up only by looking at others that they have finished or not. As he is an Honourable person, if he had finished first he must not get up instead he has to wait for others to finish, because equality matters.

Hence these were the scientific reasons which I was able to think of it. So if you agree with these reasons and got understood correctly, then please follow them instead of blaming it as a superstition. Our ancestors have made each and every ritual for a particular reason. So please try to understand them. If you have any objections or extra information about this post you can comment it below. Secrets Revealed - 6 !

HINDUISM

Generally Hindus perform more worship to God and they have more rituals compared to other religions. Here I have got a new topic about rituals performed by Hindus with scientific reasons behind them.

According to Hindu rituals, one should not cut his nails at night. Why nails should not be clipped of at night?
If you clip your nails at night, it is said that poverty befalls in house, it is a sin, and it is not good for home. But is it right? Does this all happen?

According to me, actually it is right. But we do not know the actual reason behind it. I have got experienced what happens when we clip off the nails at night. One day when I clipped off my nails at night, I kept it at the corner of the wall so that it won’t get scattered. But the other day morning when my mother was sweeping the house, she got one of my clipped nail pierced into her foot. Then I realized the reason behind it. Yes, according to our ancestors, most of us don’t throw clipped nails outside of our house at night instead we keep it here and there or we wrap it into a paper and keep it aside. What if you have a baby in your home and it swallows those clipped nails without knowing it is harmful which you have placed it somewhere else. It may harm to someone who step on that. But I am not saying that clipping off your nails at night is wrong.  If you clip your nails at night, then you must throw them outside at that instant instead of placing it somewhere else. This may be one reason.

And another one is, if we think off in older days, the reason may be “Not enough light at night”. In case we may hurt ourselves by cutting too deep into the skin. So it is better to wait until the day to cut with enough sunlight to avoid accidents. May be these are the scientific reasons behind this ritual and hence it is told not to clip nails at night.

And as we know, nails should not be bitten as it is harmful to health & hence it will cause a tree of dirty worms to grow inside our stomach which is medically proved.
There are some reasons behind every ritual a Hindu performs. So try to understand their rituals instead of believing it as a superstition.

Secrets Revealed - 5 !

  HINDUISM
A week before, I was discussing with my friends about the subject "Effects of eclipses on Human Health".Don't know what happened..!! Suddenly a thought came to my mind asking a question. "What is the scientific reason behind the rituals performed by Hindus during solar and lunar eclipse?". I thought for a long time, searched for reasons in some ritual books, searched on Google, asked my grandma and finally got some of the reasons behind these rituals and thought of sharing this interesting subject with you all.

Initially lets mention the rituals that are performed by Hindus during and after the eclipse. According to the rules and rituals made by our ancestors :
  1.  It is advisable to avoid performing any important work or deal.
  2. Avoid eating indoor or outdoor food during eclipse. Avoid eating the food which is cooked before Eclipse.
  3. One should not watch solar eclipse with naked eyes.
  4. Take the food which is cooked after Eclipse.
  5.  Clean the utensils and containers after the eclipse and then cook the food.
  6. Perform ritual bath during and after the eclipse release. Taking a holy dip in rivers or lakes is highly auspicious.
  7. Chant the name of God and recite Japas in a purified state.
  8. One should not drink stored water ( if grass blades are not kept ).
  9. Grass blades (Durva or Garika or Darbha) are kept on stored water and food during this time.
  10. Pregnant women should stay indoors during an eclipse.
These are the most known do's and dont's rituals performed by Hindus.

Then what are the effects that takes place during and after the eclipse? What are the Scientific reasons behind these rituals ?

As per the science Lunar Eclipse has very less effects on living beings compared to Solar Eclipse which significantly affects the living world. It is not a blind belief that they do have effect on human health. It should be based on some ancient scientific belief which might have been lost in course of time. Although there are no direct physical effects involving known forces, but there are certain effects which may even lead to Mental Imbalance and Lunacy. There are some scientific evidences that lunar eclipse does have some effect on the hormones, especially a woman’s monthly cycle and fertility. Yes, a modern theory called Transylvanian effect or Transylvanian hypothesis in intellectual literature presumes that lunar eclipse may affect body and mind as an impact on the circadian rhythm of human body. As per my analysis and collection of information I thought these are the main scientific reasons behind the rituals performed by Hindus.

Pregnant women should stay indoors during an eclipse to prevent the baby from developing birth defects.Pregnant women do have effect on their wombs. Children born to women who exposed themselves to lunar eclipse were affected and children born to them had defects either physically or mentally. This is because eclipse releases x-rays that can harm pregnant women. If women ever go for a health check-up, before taking the x-ray, doctors would ask if the woman is pregnant. Because x-rays will harm a pregnant woman and cause effect on their wombs.

During these eclipses one should not drink water. During a Total Solar Eclipse, Division of Environmental Biology of Vikram Sarabhai Research Center with the association of S.N. Hospitals, proved that purity of the water was reduced after Eclipse which is not good for health. They have researched it for few days and analyzed the results of water before Eclipse and the same water after the Eclipse.

But is this water drinkable if Grass blades (Durva or Garika or Darbha) are kept on stored water ?
Yes, it is drinkable. Its proven scientifically that Grass blades purify the water more than Tulsi (Ocimum) leaves can during Eclipse. Grass blades have immense purifying power. This is the main reason why grass blades are kept on stored water and food like pickles etc,.
Watching a solar eclipse without eye-wear protection can seriously damage your eyesight. This reason is very well known to everyone and hence there is no need of explanation about it.

These are the reasons what our Indian saints and Maharishis’, noticed at the time when there were no scientific instruments, telescopes or something. There is a reason behind every ritual a Hindu performs. So try to understand their rituals instead of believing it as a superstition.

My First Experience of Online Shopping.

After reading Akshay Bhagwat’s (friend, college, inspirational person) post about Online Shopping- in the way of making life more easy , I also thought of writing a post about my first experience of online shopping.

First time before a month I got a mail of offering a combo offer of Kolaveri Di Shirt & a 1000rs worth Watch free from mGinger.com. I ordered it which had an offering price 650rs. As it was cash on delivery I was not afraid of any frauds or cheats that may take place. They confirmed about my order by calling to my cell phone and told it will be dispatched in 2 days and you will get a confirmation mail when it is dispatched. Till one week there was no mail or no phone call about the status of the delivery. Then after around 10 to 12 days I got a phone call from delivery boy to deliver the Shirt. Till then I had forgotten that I have ordered a Shirt online and was disgusted of online shopping.

The delivery boy asked me to open and confirm the product and asked to pay 650rs. There was only one pack. Before opening the pack I asked the delivery boy "Will there be a watch inside". He replied, “If there is a watch offer then they will send it in another box. I don’t think there is...” Also he told that it will not be taken back once opened and also the money will not be refunded. There I got a doubt and was also little afraid whether open it or not. Then I called the customer care and inquired them about the watch. They told that it will be inside only with a small pouch. If it is not there you can complain us regarding it. But however as it was the first time for me to take an online delivery I was afraid.

And I thought this will also be a good experience in life whether to believe to do online shopping or not. With some confidence I opened it. I was happy to see the watch but was unhappy to see my “BIG SIZED” shirt. They had informed me before about the size of the shirt that they were not having any medium sized or small sized. They had only a single sized shirt and I thought it would be of medium sized. As it was oversized, I thought of presenting to my uncle on their wedding anniversary. The quality of the Shirt was good and the watch is very good looking. The price (650rs) was worth for the combo offer. After reading the post of Akshay Bhagwat I thought it’s better to choose Filpkart.com for online shopping because they deliver the product very fast, good quality products which are reliable to online customers. This site is also a recommended website of one of my friend as he often buys home appliances online.
